Oral examination from educational subjects in English Language
In accordance with the specialization of Private Associated School we focus on extended education of English Language through the implementation of CLIL methodology and bilingual education in non-language educational subjects. We regularly perform written tests that assess the level of acquired English Language in these subjects. In school year 2017/2018 we also decided to perform a special oral examination supervised by both English Language teacher and a teacher of examined subjects – Biology, Mathematics, Geography. Students are naturally examined also during regular lessons, however, the aim of this examination has been to provide them with an authentic experience similar to a school –leaving exam. Students of Year 4 have already achieved B1 level of CEFR that enables them to communicate fluently about specialized topics. During lessons of Geography, Biology and Mathematics the students have acquired a lot of specialized vocabulary and have the knowledge of the respective subject in both languages.
The oral examination was very successful, the students presented broad knowledge and fluently communicated about specialized topics. They drew two questions from each subject. One of them was a comprehensive one the other focused more on the orientation on a map, comparing pictures or calculations. Students were assessed from both language and contextual point of view. Although the emphasis was put mostly on fluency and vocabulary issues in English Language, the accuracy of the content of the respective subject was also taken into account.
The above examination shall be held once in each assessment period from Year 4 onwards in all bilingually taught subjects. From Year 5 we shall include also educational subjects in which we implement CLIL methodology.

Vianočná akadémia 2017
Mikulášsky deň
Dňa 06. 12. 2017 sa žiaci Súkromnej základnej školy a Súkromného gymnázia v sprievode svojich triednych učiteľov stretli na spoločnej rannej komunite, ktorá sa uskutočnila v chodbových priestoroch pavilónu A.
Vedenie školy, učiteľov a žiakov privítala Mgr. Lenka Volčková. Medzi žiakov zavítal aj Mikuláš. Sprevádzala ho žiačka sekundy A Ivanka Hajdušeková, prezlečená za anjela, ktorá mu pomáhala pri rozdávaní mikulášskych prekvapení pre žiakov.
Po krátkej scénke Mgr. Lenka Volčková vyzvala žiakov k zdobeniu vianočného stromčeka. Zdobením začali žiaci I. A triedy a postupne pokračovali všetky triedy až po kvartu A. Žiaci zavesili na stromček pripravené ozdoby, od Mikuláša dostali sladké balíčky a následne sa s ním aj vyfotografovali.
